Why Work With an Online Dietitian?

You've tried the apps. You've read the blog posts. You've pinned 47 "healthy meal plan" graphics on Pinterest and used exactly zero of them. The information isn't the problem — you have plenty of information. What you need is someone who knows your family, your schedule, your kids' insane food preferences, and can build a plan around your actual life.

That's what I do. I'm Erin Albert, a registered dietitian with a Master's from Tufts University and over 15 years of clinical experience. I'm also a mom of 7-year-old twins who regularly eat pasta with butter and occasionally refuse to touch anything green. I live in this reality, not some filtered version of it.

Working with a dietitian online means you get expert guidance without the commute, the waiting room, or trying to find childcare. We meet on Zoom — during nap time, lunch break, after bedtime, whatever works. Most of my clients are in Florida, but I work with families across the entire US.

Who I Work With

🍳 Overwhelmed Parents

You're tired of the 5 PM dinner panic. You need a realistic meal system that accounts for picky eaters, tight schedules, and the fact that some nights it's going to be cereal. I'll help you build a framework that works 80% of the time — which is plenty.

👶 New & Postpartum Moms

Losing baby weight, breastfeeding nutrition, starting solids, or just trying to feed yourself while keeping a tiny human alive. I've been there twice simultaneously (twins). I know what's realistic and what's Pinterest fantasy.

😤 Parents of Picky Eaters

Your kid eats five foods and you're worried about nutritional gaps. I'll help you expand their repertoire without turning every meal into a battle. Evidence-based strategies, not tricks.

⚽ Parents of Young Athletes

Pre-game nutrition, hydration, recovery meals, and making sure your active kid is fueled properly without sports supplement nonsense. Real food for real performance.

💪 Dads Who Want to Get Healthier

You want to lose weight, build muscle, or just stop eating like a college freshman. I'll give you a straightforward plan that doesn't require a meal prep service or a personal chef.

🏠 Families on a Budget

Healthy eating doesn't require Whole Foods and a $200 weekly grocery bill. I shop at Publix and feed my family of four for about $75 a week. I'll show you how to do the same.

What Makes This Different

I've heard from a lot of clients who tried working with a dietitian before and it didn't stick. Usually it's one of three things: the meal plans were unrealistic, the advice was generic, or the dietitian didn't have kids and couldn't relate to the chaos.

Here's what I do differently:

Many insurance plans cover nutrition counseling with a registered dietitian. I provide superbills for out-of-network reimbursement. Not sure? Ask me.

Dietitian vs. Nutritionist: Why It Matters

This is important and most people don't know the difference. A Registered Dietitian (RD) has completed an accredited bachelor's or master's degree program in nutrition science, completed 1,000+ hours of supervised clinical practice, and passed a national board exam administered by the Commission on Dietetic Registration. The title is legally protected in most states.

The term "nutritionist" is not regulated in most states. In many places, anyone can call themselves a nutritionist regardless of education or training. Some nutritionists are highly qualified. Many are not. There's no way to tell from the title alone.

When you work with me, you're working with someone who has a Master of Science in Nutrition from Tufts University, a Bachelor's from Michigan State University, over 15 years of clinical experience, and an active RD credential. I'm also a real person who feeds actual children actual food every day and knows what that's like.

What Clients Say

"I was skeptical about doing nutrition counseling over Zoom, but honestly it's better than in-person. I can do it during naptime, I don't have to get dressed up, and Erin's advice is incredibly practical. My picky 4-year-old is eating 8 new foods after 3 sessions."

— Sarah M., mom of 2, Texas

"Erin is the first dietitian who didn't make me feel like garbage about my eating habits. She met me where I was and helped me make small changes that actually stuck. Down 15 pounds in 3 months without a single miserable meal."

— Mike R., dad of 3, Florida

"The grocery list alone was worth the consultation fee. I'm spending $40 less per week on groceries and my family is eating better. Erin knows her stuff and she's genuinely funny, which helps when you're talking about your diet."

— Jennifer L., mom of 1, California

Common Questions

Do I need to be in Florida to work with you?

No. Everything is virtual via Zoom. I work with families across the US. Most of my clients are in Florida, but I have clients in Texas, California, New York, and everywhere in between.

Will my insurance cover this?

Many plans cover nutrition counseling with a registered dietitian, including virtual visits. I provide superbills for out-of-network reimbursement. If you mention your insurance in the contact form, I can help you figure out your coverage before we schedule.

What if I've tried a dietitian before and it didn't work?

Usually that means the plan wasn't realistic for your actual life. I don't give people 45-minute recipes and ingredients from specialty stores. I work with what you'll actually cook, what your family will actually eat, and what fits your actual schedule.

Can you help with weight loss?

Yes — but I don't do crash diets, calorie counting, or anything that makes you miserable. I focus on sustainable changes that lead to gradual, lasting weight loss. Most clients who come to me for weight loss end up losing weight as a side effect of eating better and more consistently.

How is this different from a meal plan app?

A meal plan app doesn't know that your daughter won't eat anything with "green bits," your son has soccer three nights a week, and you hate cooking on Wednesdays. I do. Personalized guidance from someone who understands your specific situation will always outperform a generic algorithm.
